A native app, mobile and desktop ordering, and a marketing site for America's diner, all on one design system.

fig. 01 — Denny's

Denny’s came to Hathway to redesign ordering on mobile and desktop and to launch a loyalty program that converts. We built a native app, mobile and desktop ordering sites, and a marketing site for both. I designed UI screens across all of it, helped manage the design system, and drew a few illustrations along the way.

Ordering

Pick a location, browse the menu, check out, and get a pickup window. There’s a suggestion or two along the way, then a thank-you that tells you when to show up.

Mobile menu and checkout screens, with full-length menu pages
Order details and the Thank you Isabella! confirmation, ready for pickup in 32 to 45 minutes

Marketing site

Four stories, each with its own color from the palette: Family & Community in red, Our Food in orange, The Environment in green, Our People in yellow.

UI toolkit

Color, accent colors, background gradients, the diamond pattern and type, down to the atoms. I made sure it was notated for development, ADA compliant, and built to flex with dynamic content.

The Denny's UI toolkit laid out at an angle: palette, gradients, type, buttons and page modules
